G-phase processing<\/span><\/h2>\n

The G-phase is a by-product of biodiesel production. Technological equipment serves to break the G-phase into an organic layer and glycerol. Glycerol is then concentrated from 50-60% to 80%.<\/span><\/p>\n

Description of technology<\/span><\/h3>\n

The glycerol phase is pumped into a storage tank from which it is not delivered to the reactor. The reactor contains a mixture acidified with hydrochloric acid. After de-acidification, the mixture is allowed to settle and is separated using a conductivity sensor. The glycerol phase is pumped into a reservoir from which it is continuously injected into the evaporator, where the methanol is distilled off from the glycerol by vacuum. Methanol condenses on the tube cooler. To save energy, heat exchangers are included in the system.<\/span><\/p>\n
