Vapour recompression<\/span><\/h2>\n

By compressing the vapours, it is possible to achieve a significant reduction of energy consumption in the dewatering processes (compression). Dewatering is based on the principle of water vapour compression. The evaporative heat that must be introduced into the evaporation of water in the thickening process can be recovered by condensing the extracted vapours. In order to have the condensation heat contained in the vapour used to provide additional heat for the concentration process, the vapour condensation must be carried out at a higher temperature than boiling point. To increase the condensation temperature, steam is compressed by 0.1 to 0.5 bar (10,000 – 50,000 Pa). For returning heat, the heat exchanger is used to return the condensation heat from the compressed vapour to the concentration unit. In addition to the energy required to drive the compressor and the initial heating, no further energy input is required. The steam recompression method is the most cost-effective method of evaporation.<\/span><\/p>\n
